  Watched 3 season of game of thrones - I want those 25+ hours of my life back

  this is the worst series i've ever watched in my life.

  whenever things are starting to get smooth and good characters seem to gain advantage, the writers just kill them.

  i've wasted 25+ hours of my life watching how the writers make the bad win over the good.. they make you continue watching by planting the seed in your head that "just a few more episodes and everything is gonna be all right", but no, painful death comes upon anyone who is not cruel and perfidious enaugh.

  hello everyone i just wanted to give a litte update on what happened today with my tolerant, but still active jw wife.

  she was at the sunday morning meeting today and when she came home she told me the wt study was about the revised overlapping generation setting.

  there has been some tension whenever we discuss my differences with current wt beliefs so i was surprised she brough this up.

  That is a very good start ! Doesn't it feel good to be able to have an honest open conversation for once ?

  It took a good two years after my husband and I stopped attending meetings ,that we noticed we felt free and comfortable sharing ideas that were independent and original . The indocrination of the Watchtower society is not an easy thing to break free from ,but it is possible !

  OMG ....I am so hooked on Game Of Thrones . I have read the books ,and have watched the series completely through .IT IS AWESOME !! Can't wait toinight is the season premire of season four !!!!

  will-be-apostate....I am afraid we can not be friends .....your blasphemy is just too much for me to handle .....LOL

  I love how the author is such a sick twisted master at drawing you in and then dashing all your hopes and dreams .(RED WEDDING )

  Still have to read Dance of Dragons and see what he has in store for Danareyes (sp?)

  My greatest fear is that the author will die before he completes the series !

  Call from my JW brother that I have not heard from in 5 yrs

  early this morning i get a phone call from my jw brother i have not heard from in 5 yrs .the first thought in my head was someone has died .

  so i answer cautiously ......hi is everything okay ?

  he just starts talking as if we had always been in contact.

  Early this morning I get a phone call from my JW brother I have not heard from in 5 yrs .The first thought in my head was someone has died . So I answer cautiously ......HI IS EVERYTHING OKAY ? He just starts talking as if we had always been in contact. First he apologizes ....well sort of ...for not having contact in so long ( then he adds well it really is both of our faults ....okay) . He says he doesn't want it to be like that anymore ,and I say well great me neither ,I am happy he called , and all the past is water under the bridge . He tells me he is now sober one year ,again I tell him that is great ! I also tell him our older brother would love to hear from him too !

  All of the sudden his cult personality kicks in full force ...."OH you know I can't have a relationship with you guys ,I I just wanted to touch base " " You grew up a witness you KNOW what the Biblke says !"

  I told him we don't care how he chooses to worship ,we just want to be a family . But then he was just going to continue on spouting BS so i said yeah thanks for calling bye ....

  This pissed me off so bad this morning . So no relationship just contact when he feels guilty enough to call .

  Nice that he can quote scripture to back shunning ,but completely block out the simple command to LOVE .

  Want to know why people accept evolution ?

  do you have questions about or want to understand evolution?

  it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.

  we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

  I have said, " And which truth would that happen to be ? Would it be the 'truth' i was taught as a child and preached for years ? Or the new truth they are teaching now ? ....No thanks I am happy now ,why would I go back to something that only caused me to feel bad about myself and made me unhappy ?"

  I have said this to an Elder before, and he didn't have much more to say to me after that ......

  it has been over a year since i offically stopped caring about and going to jw meetings.

  prioor to this time i had tons of responsibility that drained every once of time i had.

  like any father i had family matters to attend to.

  A medical question.

  i have been having pain in my left hip for around 4 years.

  got worse this winter.

  hurts at night, after walking and periods of inactivity.

  My husband had pain in his hip,and after all the testing found out it was refered pain from lower back area which is the actual problem . The discs in his lower back are wearing down and causing pressure on nerves which in turn refers to pain in hip and sometimes numbness in his feet .
